English translation
In a farm in Sättna the father of the house had died. Every night one could hear him come in, strike his stick against the floor, pull out a chair, undress, and lie down in the bed where two girls were already sleeping.

I en gård i Sättna hade far i gården dött. Var natt kunde man höra honom komma in, stöta käppen i golvet, dra fram en stol, kläda av sig och lägga sig i sängen, där två flickor redan lågo.
