Approximately 50 years ago, the crofter Sven Håkansson lived in Annerberget, Indals-Liden. He is described as a brooder. He died quite suddenly, and soon the talk spread that he “walked again.” Already when he lay in state, his little son, Karl, was said to have seen him standing and looking in through the window one evening. Afterward, he troubled his wife with frequent visits; he even pinched her arms. – One autumn day, she had gone to the forest in the company of a couple of men to gather leaves. Even now, the deceased came. The men did not see him, but they did see the leaf bundles swirling around as if thrown by invisible hands. One of the men then mustered his courage and asked what he wanted. He wanted them to know that he had some dead bones stored in a stone cairn below the barn at home on the farm. They should find these and take them to the churchyard. Before that, he could not find peace in his grave. Furthermore, he wanted to speak with his little son next Thursday evening at 10 PM at a certain specified place near the church. If he did not get this, the son would suffer a violent death before turning 18 years old. – They searched in the stone cairn and found a “birch bark container” with soil and finger bones of a human. They took these parts to the churchyard, and afterward, the widow was left in peace by the deceased. Accompanied by an older person, the boy went at the appointed time to the meeting place. The dead man came, but the boy fainted when he saw him, so no conversation took place. – Well, the boy grew up and took service with a farmer in Indals-Liden. He was soon to turn 18 years old. Then a terrible piece of news spread in the district. – Kalle’s master had suddenly gone mad and, with an axe, had chopped off the farmhand’s back when they were in the woodshed. I remember very well how the people in my childhood spoke of Sven Håkansson having “walked again” and foretold his son’s violent death, and even today, the bloody incident in the woodshed lives vividly in the memory of the population.

För omkring 50 år sedan levde i Annerberget, Indals-Liden torparen Sven Håkansson. Han beskrives som grubblare. Han dog helt hastigt, och snart kom det talet ut, att han "gick igen". Redan då han stod lik, skulle hans lille son, Karl ha sett honom stå och titta in genom fönstret en kväll. Sedan oroade han sin hustru med täta besök, han t.o.m. nöp henne i armarna. - En höstdag hade hon begivit sig till skogen i sällskap med ett par karlar för att ta löv. Även nu kom den avlidne. Karlarna såg honom inte men väl att lövkärvarna yrde kring som kastade av osynliga händer. En av karlarna tog då mod till sig och frågade, vad han ville. Jo, han hade några dödben förvarade i ett stenröse nerom logen hemma på gården. De skulle söka rätt på dessa och föra dem till kyrkogården. Förr kunde han ej få ro i graven.
