English translation
"Ante in Kungsgården" in Selånger I remember. He was a "wicked" and unpleasant old man. He was at odds with a crofter. After this man had died and been buried, Ante commanded the farmhand to drive him to the cemetery, which was done. Ante, who was drunk, stood by the stile and began to scold the dead man. But he didn't last long there. He hadn't said many words before he was thrown far away through the bramble bushes on the other side of the road, and the farmhand had a terrible time getting hold of him, for there was deep snow. - When Ante was dying, he saw flames flickering around the bed, and he called for help to have the fire put out, but no one could help him, for it was God's fire he saw.

"Ante i Kungsgården" i Selånger minnes jag. Det var en "holsk" och stygg gubbe. Han var ovän med en torpare. Sedan denne dött och blivit begraven befallde Ante drängen att skjutsa sig till kyrkogården, som också blev gjort. Ante, som var i fyllan ställde sig vid stegporten och tog till att gräla på den döde. Men där vart han inte gammal. Han hade inte sagt många ord, förrän han blev kastad iväg långt bort genom risbuskarna på andra sidan vägen, och drängen hade ett fasligt besvär att få rätt på honom, för det var djup snö. - Då Ante höll på dö, såg han eldlågor flamma omkring sängen, och han ropade på hjälp att få elden släckt, men ingen kunde hjälpa honom, ty det var Guds eld, han såg.
