It was just a couple of years ago. My old woman and I had just gone to bed. Then I saw a cat jump down from the stove and dart away under the bed. I thought it was our cat, who had spotted a rat she intended to catch. So I got up and took the candle and shone it under the bed. There was no cat there. There was no cat at all inside the cottage. Well, I went back to bed, but the next day I had such pain in the eye with which I had looked under the bed, and that whole side of my face was swollen and SO painful. It felt like cat claws were pricking it. After it had gone on like this for a few days, I took and mixed together a batch and threw it under the bed. After that, it wasn't long until I was completely well. It was fingernails, hair, a little gold and silver, brass, tin, etc., so that there were nine parts.

Det var bara för ett par år sedan. Vi hade just lagt oss, käringa och jag. Då fick jag se en katt hoppa ned från spisen och ränna iväg under sängen. Jag trodde, att det var vår katt, som fått se en råtta, som hon tänkt ta. Så steg jag upp och tog ljuset och lyste under sängen. Inte var där någon katt. Det fanns ingen katt alls inne i stugan. Nå, jag gick och lade mig, men andra dagen hade jag så ont i det öga, varmed jag tittat under sängen, och hela den sidan av ansiktet var uppsvälld och SÅ ond. Det stack som av kattklor. Sedan det pågått så några dagar, tog jag och lagade ihop en sats och kastade under sängen. Sen stod det inte på länge, förrän jag var alldeles bra. Det var naglar, hår, litet guld och silver, messing, tenn o.s.v. så att det var nio delar.
