Haunting in Solberg

In the village of Solberg here in the parish, there was at one time a terrible haunting at Kerstop Per's farm, but Janne Juhlin had apparently “dealt with” it. It is told that he arrived there one evening and lay down in the haunted farmstead. Later that night, a headless man came into the room where he lay. This man extended his hand to Juhlin. He took the ghost's hand, and it led him to a brushwood pile a short distance from the farm. There the ghost had its head, which it took and put on. Then it spoke and said that it was a man from Dalarna or Västergötland – I don't recall which – who had been traveling around trading and had been murdered there at the farm and then hidden under the brushwood pile. When the ghost had said this, it disappeared, and since then it has been peaceful there at the farm.
