English translation
One autumn evening, an old woman living in Attmar parish was on her way home. To shorten the journey, she took a shortcut through an abandoned croft. As the evening was dark, she lit her way with a lantern. While she had been away, it had snowed a little, but no one had walked before her. When she reached the croft, she met a man. It would not have been remarkable if she had seen tracks from him in the snow. For this reason, she arrived home a little faster than usual.
