English translation
A girl who, one spring, served as a so-called flag guard during timber floating by a river in Stöde, one day saw a woman standing astride a timber chute. Without thinking, the girl ran over to help her, but upon reaching the vicinity of the spot, she saw that the woman dissolved into a mist.

En flicka, som en vår s.k. flaggvakt under flottningen vid en å i Stödes, såg en dag en kvinna, stående grensle över en timmerränna. Utan att tänke på saken sprang flickan dit för att hjälpa henne, men kommen i närheten av stället såg hon, att kvinnan upplöstes i en dimma.
