English translation

In a forest village within Attmar, an event occurred several years ago that was talked about for a long time afterward. The matter was this: the village's young people had once arranged a gathering in a barn. The dance lasted for two evenings, or rather nights, and coffee was brewed at a thicket right next to the barn. When the dance on the last night was over, some young men went to the coffee spot to see if the fire was out. Upon arriving, they saw to their horror a woman lying on the embers, whose head was severed from her body. They ran to get some men, who, upon their arrival, saw the same sight. It was, however, a long time before there was another dance in that village.
