English translation
One man was driving at dusk past a stone lying by the road, where his dog stopped and barked, and the horse reared up. For his part, the man couldn't see anything in particular, but still stopped and got out of the carriage and walked up to the stone, behind which he now saw a bundle with a head, which nodded at him. He didn't stay long but drove away as fast as possible.
Not far from this stone is a stream and over it a bridge, under which some drunk men heard a pig grunt one winter night. In their exhilarated state, they jumped on the bridge and shouted, whereupon the pig moved higher up the stream. They then ran there, but upon their arrival, the pig was heard under the bridge again. This went on for a while, until the reason became clear to them with subsequent sobriety.
For two men, who came driving one night over the bridge, happy and tipsy, the shafts fell from the harness, which also led to their sobering up.

En man for i skymningen förbi en vid vägen liggande sten, där hans hund stannade och skällde, och hästen stegrade sig. För sin del var inte mannen god för att se något särskilt, men stannade ändå och steg ur vagnen och gick fram till stenen, bakom vilken han nu såg ett knyte med huvud, som nickade åt honom. Han blev inte kvar länge utan körde det fortaste därifrån.Inte långt från denna sten är en bäck och över den en bro, varunder några berusade män hörde en gris grymta en vinternatt. I sitt upprymda tillstånd hoppade de på bron och skreko, då grisen flyttade sig högre upp i bäcken. De sprungo nu dit, men vid deras framkomst, hördes grisen under bron igen. Så gick en stund, tills orsaken blev klar för dem med efterföljande nykterhet.För två män, som glada och påstrukna kommo körande en natt över bron, föllo skaklarna från sele , vilket och lände till deras nyktrande.
