Beside the public highway, very close to Ljustorp church, there is an earth mound, now overgrown with birch trees, about which the legend says that it contains dead soldiers from a battle that is said to have once taken place on the adjacent plain. Investigations of the mound are said to have been undertaken at one time, but when the men had dug for a while, they found that the entire neighboring village was ablaze with a bright flame, so they ran there to extinguish it, but upon arriving, it was found that there was no fire at all; rather, it was probably a warning to leave the mound and the dead in peace.

Invid allmänna landsvägen, helt nära Ljustorps kyrka, finns en, nu med björkar beväxt jordkulle, om vilken sägnen säger, att den skall innehålla döda soldater från ett slag, som fordom skulle ha timat på den intillvarande slätten. Undersökningar av kullen lär en gång i tiden ha vidtagits, men när karlarna grävt en stund funno de att hela den intilliggande byn stod i Ljusan låga, varför de sprungo dit för att släcka, men framkomma befanns det icke vara någon eld alls, utan var antagligen ett varsel om att låta kullen och de döda vara ifred.
