English translation
Long before my time, there was a man in Klocke who, for several evenings in a row, heard someone on the other side of the river calling for a boat. Since he saw no one there, he didn't bother to row across. But as the calling never ceased, he took the boat and rowed over. He turned the stern towards the shore, as one usually does when picking someone up in a boat. He clearly felt how the stern sank down, as if someone had stepped into the boat, but he could see no one. So he rowed back to his side. After that, the calling was no longer heard in the evenings.

Långt före min tid var det en man i Klocke, som flera kvällar å rad hörde någon på andra sidan älven ropa efter båt. Som han inte såg till någon människa där, brydde han sig inte om att ro över. Men då ropandet aldrig ville upphöra, tog han båten och rodde över. Han vände bakstammen mot land, såsom man brukar göra, då man hämtar någon i båt. Han kände tydligt, huru bakstammen sjönk ned, likasom hade någon stigit i båten, men ingen kunde han se. Så rodde han över till sin sida. Sedan hördes inte det där ropet mera om kvällarna.
