English translation
Mother spoke of how people at a certain farm went and took old planks from the churchyard and laid them outside the cottage bridge to walk on. But they got no joy from those planks, for they were not left in peace but were thrown aside by others. There was no peace until they had transported them back, it was told. This was said to have occurred in Mother's youth.

Mamma talade om, att de i en gård gick och tog gamla plankor från kyrkogården och lade utanför stugubron för att gå på. Men de fick ingen glädje av de bräderna, ty de fick inte ligga i fred utan kastades undan av andra. Det blev ingen fred förrän de fraktat dem tillbaka, berättades det. Det skulle ha tilldragit sig i mammas ungdom.
