Light After the Deceased

I was born in Bodum in Gideå. When I was 14 years old, a 20-year-old man died on the neighboring farm. He had been unusually wild and unruly. After his death, there was "unrest" on the farm. At night, one could see a light shining, now in one room, now in another. The light seemed to wander, and sometimes it appeared as if the light was outside the windows. I myself saw it several times. On one occasion, it was bright in the parlor chamber. I didn't have the sense to be afraid, but went and looked at the window. It was so clearly lit that I could have seen if a button had been lying on the floor. But nothing could be seen from where the light came – no lamp or such. From a distance, however, it usually looked as if two candles were burning in the window.
