The Troll Cauldrons and Giant's Potholes at Rotsidan

The deep, circular hollows in the polished diabase along the four-kilometre coastal strip were once thought to be the work not of glacial meltwater, but of giants and sea trolls boiling seal blubber and brewing troll-draughts in the rock. Fishermen were warned not to sit on the rim of these cauldrons at dusk, when the suck of the surf in the hollows was said to be able to pull a person straight down into the mountain's interior. The rock is smooth. The holes are deeper than they look.
