Norrfällsviken
The Devil's Fields

The broad shingle fields reaching out toward the sea at Norrfällsviken were once called the Devil's Acres. Farmers said only Hin Håle himself could plough and harrow ground made entirely of dead, polished stones where nothing could be sown or grown. The place was considered ill-fated to walk at night, when the sound of stones rolling in the swell was mistaken for subterranean footsteps.
