English translation
My wife helped lay out an old woman who died here in the village. There was a piece of cloth that had been bought for the deceased to be used for the shroud, but it wasn't used after all. So the deceased's husband told my wife that she should take this piece of cloth, which she did. But – imagine that we got a ghost in the house just because of that little piece of cloth! – One night my wife woke up and saw the deceased standing alive and well in the middle of the floor. But my wife wasn't afraid, she wasn't. "Get out of here, devil! You have no business in this house," she roared, and then the ghost disappeared with a great din down through the stairs.

Min hustru var med och svepte en gumma, som dog här i byn. Så var där ett stycke tyg, som var köpt åt den döde för att användas vid svepningen, men det blev inte av, att det användes. Säger så den dödes man åt gumman min, att hon skulle ta detta tygstycket, som hon också gjorde. Men - tänk att vi fick ett spöke i huset bara för det lilla tygstycket! - En natt vaknade gumman min och såg den döde stå livs levande mitt på golvet. Men gumman var inte rädd av sig, hon. "Vik härifrån, satan! Du har intet i detta hus att beställa," röt hon till, och då försvann spöket med stort dån ner genom trappan.
