English translation
There were some boys who went to a timber hut where a solitary man lived. They climbed onto the roof and made all sorts of unpleasant noises. The man believed it was some kind of goblin. He began to read and pray, both the Lord's Prayer and the Benediction, but things on the roof didn't get any better for it. Then the man started to crow like a rooster. The boys were filled with such laughter that they had to leave to avoid being revealed. The man later spoke about this and said: "Reading may be, but crowing really works." - This is true and has taken place here in the parish.

Det var några pojkglopar, som gav sig iväg till en timmerkoja, där en ensam karl höll till. De klättrade upp på taket och hade varjehanda otröjsamma läten för sig. Karlen trodde att det var något sorts oknytt. Han till att läsa och be både Fader vår o välsignelsen, men det blev inte bättre på taket för det.
